On point spread and totals wagering you are allowed to "buy
points".
Buying points means you
can move the line up to 2 points. The
way this works is for every ½
point you want to buy, you must risk
10% in extra juice ( except when buying
on/off of a 3 in NFL ).
So let's say you like the Dolphins -7 over the Colts - however, you think they will win by a touchdown. So instead of risking $110 to win $100 at -7, you can risk $120 to win $100 at -6 ½.
Here is a summary of the rules for buying points: |
1/2 point - you lay 120/100
1 point - you lay 130/100
1 1/2 points - you lay 140/100
2 points - you lay 150/100
When buying on or off of an NFL 3, there is an extra 10% juice.
When buying on or off an NFL 7 or NCAA 3 there is an extra 5% juice.
You can buy up to 2 points on any Football or Basketball game.
